I love reading books in my spare time, I've been doing this since I was a kid. I grew up without internet until my mid teens when I had a cellphone that could access the internet. For the first time ever, I was exposed to things outside of my usual environment. Even more important, everything wasn't censored (I grew up in a Baptist household). Since then I've been in love with blogs. I love that people share their stories and are mostly genuine. I always knew I would start a blog, I guess I just didn't have the life experience to do it then.
Back then I'd read everything I found, now I have less time to read and I'm careful about what I read mostly to avoid emotional triggers. Here are some of my favorite blogs:
Aletheia Luna and Mateo Sol write about the body, heart, mind, soul and spirit. I've been reading their blogs for years. They have helped me understand a lot about myself and other people. If you don't read any other blog in this article, please read this one.
Jesus Freak Hideout
I haven't read this blog in a very long time but I used to read it everyday a few years ago. As the name suggests, it's all about dealing with life from a Christian perspective.
Experience Project wasn't a blog, it was a social network which allowed people to discuss various topics and share their stories. I used to be on Experience Project everyday, I would share my experiences and read those of others. Sadly, it shut down in 2016 (think it cost too much to run).
The Butterfly Project
All about stopping self-harm, supporting others and loving yourself. I've never cut myself but I often drew butterflies on my wrists when I wanted to.
Sharpening My Pencil
This is the Pepe Marais' blog (not sure if he still updates it). I used to read this often, he's a guy who I admire. I love people who never give up.
These are all I can remember now, I might update this post in future when I remember others. If you're reading this I hope that you are happy and having an awesome week :)
