When I get wake up every morning, before I put on my glasses brush my teeth or do anything else, I start my morning th same way.

For the past few years, every morning when I awake I say a prayer. I beileve that this short powerful prayer has a lot to do with my successes and experiences. It's called the prayer of Jabez, and goes like this:

Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!

This is my favorite example of faithful prayer in action. In that part of the Bible (1 Chronicles 4), there is mostly mention of the names of all the different clans of Judea and their members. In the middle of all this, the author thought that he should pause and briefly share the story of a man named Jabez, a name that meant born out of pain (in a time where names were prophetic).

Jabez didn't want his name or current circumstances to define who he was, so he called out to God urgently. And God blessed him. What I love about this prayer is that it's not a pray for some kind of private blessing, it's a cry to Gof for a blessing as part of His chosen people. It's a way to fully submit yourself to God and lay your desires and needs before Him, knowing that he will lead you along the path that is right for you.

I've personalised this prayed slightly as most people do and in addition to this I'm also praying that God would allow me to give more. I have nothing to give right now but I will give all I have and trust that He provides more so that I can keep helping others.
